Let's talk about Degrowth workshop

I remember starting the master's program with the ambition of being able to actively promote degrowth through non-formal educational activities. In the past, I had implemented various programs that were not explicitly dedicated to degrowth, but at some point, they introduced important critiques of green growth and sustainable development. Therefore, it brought me great joy to be able to organize a workshop on degrowth with the support of the organization I work for, Inter Alia. It has been even more special to have my colleagues present and interested in learning more about degrowth!

The workshop exceeded our expectations, with nearly 15 very diverse participants, the majority of whom had no prior knowledge of degrowth. They were all happy to be present, thinking more critical about the socio-economic systems and looking into issues that they haven't thought before. They also expressed a keen interest in participating in further workshops on degrowth, as they wished to delve deeper into how degrowth could be applied in their own contexts and realities.

The story didn't end there, as their insightful points and questions inspired me to create a toolkit based on the workshop and their valuable contributions. The initial plan was for it to be a 6-8 page document, but it ultimately grew to almost 30 pages, encompassing not only the workshop content but also the key insights I gained from my master's program. The toolkit doesn't aim to educate you about degrowth or make a significant contribution; there are books, individuals, groups, movements, and special programs dedicated to those objectives. It does aim, however, to bring people together to interact, exchange ideas, and create a space for critical thinking, networking, and collective empowerment. 

The toolkit is marked with CC0 1.0. universal license. You are free to copy, modify, distribute, and use the content for any purpose, even for commercial use, without asking for permission. However, it contains references and attributions to sources used. These references are included for citation and attribution purposes. This means that you are not required to provide attribution when using this work, but it is appreciated when referencing the sources mentioned in the document.
